Hello EPIC, we had a great time this past Saturday night at LaserQuest and afterwards at Fred and Felicia's. Thank you F&F for your awesome hospitality. I think we gave Janette a very nice send off for Sudan.
The time we had at LaserQuest was, in a word, epic! Sure, we may have been the oldest group that has ever played there but that's OK. We all put on tremendous displays of comraderie, shooting skills, gamesmanship, and overall we just had a lot of fun. As a side note, there were some very puzzling things that happened as well. Me, your humble EPIC leader, finished dead last in a field of 30 people during the first game of lasertag!!! How can that be you ask?
What I discovered was that I had erred in assigning myself a winning nickname. At LaserQuest you give yourself a name at the start of the game - I had chosen, for some unknown reason, the name "muscles". And then I proceeded to finish dead last with just 33 points (a typical score is 200 or more). IAnd to add insult to injury when they flashed my name on the scoreboard they spelled it wrong. In the second game I made up for it though by changing my nickname to "Crow" (very random obviously) and finished a strong 10th. It's all in the nickname I tell you.
Here's the other nicknames in our group that night:
Fred (Job); Mike (Sharkboy); our son Bryant (Doom); Archie (Sparky); Cora (YogiCori); Veronica (Lava Girl); Barbara (Lil BB); and Janette (Trinity).
And to think, with names like those they all finished way ahead of me in the first game, go figure!
At any rate, thanks to all who participated at lasertag...it was a sweaty, fun, noisy, and great time for sure.
See ya Thursday night. Archie and Cora are bringing the goods (food).
Peace,
Jeff
Sara,
I think Jeff's son, Brian gets the prize for most kills. He had great accuracy and moved like a tiger.
Archie
hey!!! Who took the shirt off my back.
