Prepare the Mind for Action

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. ¹⁴ As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, ¹⁵ but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; ¹⁶ because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY." 1 Peter 13-16

So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that's coming when Jesus arrives. Don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn't know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God's life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, "I am holy; you be holy."

I am chewing on this passage from our 'Fearless' leader Jeffery Chandler. I'm trying to get the head knowledge to the heart. Maybe I'm slow that way, but it takes effort to get an idea to my heart. I think what I am getting is that God's love for me, produces a desire to consume His Word, which prepares my mind for the action of being Holy in all my behavior. Does that make sense?
