Which way to Bandera Rd?

It was a simple question. Cora and I stopped for gas on the way for a Sunday drive. I walked in the gas station to pay and a guy asked if I knew how to get to Bandera Road. I told him how to get there and walked out to the car to pump gas. Before I could get to the car he followed me out the door and asked again for clarifications to the directions.

I wasn't trying to be Holy. I wasn't even thinking about the pastor's connection message. I just asked out of curiosity if he was new to town. He said, 'Yes. He would be working in town for 3 - 4 months.' But now it clicks! He doesn't have a church to go to. I whipped out a Grace Point business card and wrote my name on it. I said he needed to check us out. To give me a call and we could get together. He was appreciative and said he hadn't been to church in a long time, but had a death in the family and maybe he should get back in church.

His name is Carl. This was the most natural thing to do. No sweat. No stress. Just an opportunity to tell someone what a great church Grace Point is and the people make it that way. Maybe Carl will call. I'll keep you posted! This was an easy God Spot!

There were all kinds of things that jumped off the page at me on this. But the thing that most struck me was "I wasn't trying to be Holy". Holiness is the bi-product of daily submission to the Holy Spirit's moving in and through us. It is the overflow. It was Archie's natural "holy curiosity" to have a simple conversation most people choose to not have. "No sweat..." Amen. DG

Arch, good work. You were exhibiting what I want to be this year - bold! It's on my cell phone as the display - be bold! Last year's theme was, it's all good! And God made it so.
Keep up the good work, and also keep up the good work at being a good example of a caring Christian brother!!

I'm chuckling. Me bold? You are the one that is bold. I just couldn't shake this guy off my tail. Then, I figured what the heck, church runs 'em off every time. Wait. Dave I'm kidding. Ha!

As long as we are bold with love and grace, we can be sure that some will GO running ("The people of the world will hate you because you belong to me, for they don't know God who senr me." - Jn 15:21) and some will COME running ("You are the light of the world...glowing in the night for all to see...so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." - Matt. 5:14-16).

Experiencing some people responding to love is a giant source of our joy!

At least when they are running you know which way they are going. Thanks for the Word.
